BIG_PICTURE Project Team Meeting

FEP Researchers Present a New Research Initiative at the BIG_PICTURE Project Meeting

From 22 to 24 June 2026, the Department of Forestry and Renewable Forest Resources at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana hosted the annual international meeting of the BIG_PICTURE project team.

During the meeting, project partners presented the results of their work to date and discussed planned future activities. The BIG_PICTURE project makes an important contribution to biodiversity research by enabling the systematic collection and analysis of large volumes of data obtained through camera traps. These are used to monitor wildlife and their habitats in a structured and consistent manner.

Researchers from the Faculty of Environmental Protection, one of the project’s 17 partners, also took an active part in the meeting. They presented a proposal for a new joint research paper based on data and camera-trap images collected within the project. The proposed study will focus on interactions among different small carnivore species.

The FEP team also contributed to the further development of research proposals presented by other project partners by providing expert feedback and guidance. In addition, they participated in the co-organisation of the entire event.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to exchange knowledge, develop new research ideas, strengthen cooperation among project partners, and promote the effective use of data collected within the BIG_PICTURE project.
