Erasmus+

The ERASMUS programme, or European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of Universityimages Students, was a European student exchange programme established in 1987. It formed a major part of the  European Union Lifelong Learning Programme 2007-2013, and was the operational framework for the  European Commission’s initiatives in  higher education.

The new European Union programme Erasmus+ is programme for Education , Training and Sport  for 2014-2020 and 2021-2027.
The Erasmus+ programme aims to boost skills and employability, as well as modernising Education, Training, and Youth work. The seven year programme will have a budget of €26,2 billion. This is nearly double the funding compared to its predecessor programme (2014-2020).

The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. The programme also supports the European Pillar of Social Rights, implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027 and develops the European dimension in sport.

Erasmus+ offers mobility and cooperation opportunities in higher education, vocational education and training, school education (including early childhood education and care), adult education, youth and sport. Detailed information on these opportunities, including eligibility criteria, is available in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide.

The outcomes of Erasmus+ are available in reports and compendia of statistics, as well as through the Erasmus+ Projects Platform. This includes most of the initiatives funded by the programme and a selection of good practices and success stories.
