What are the most effective methods for controlling wild boar movement?

In the framework of the international ENETWILD project, members of the FVO project team have been involved in the preparation and running of the Online Workshop: Questionnaire about experiences in effectiveness of methods for controlling wild boar movement, which aims, among other things, to identify which separation measures are most effective in limiting the movement of wild boar and thus preventing the spread of African swine fever in Europe. The workshop presented the findings published so far (in scientific journals/articles) on the effectiveness of each method, as well as the practical experience gained by surveying a wide range of stakeholders from 15 European countries.

The ENETWILD project, funded by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), aims to collect comparable data at European level to analyse the risks of diseases shared between wildlife, livestock and humans. These data are also essential for wildlife conservation and management.
