Presentation of the INKA-B-ZZP Project to Students

As part of the course Environmental Monitoring, Dr. Asta Gregorič from Aerosol d.o.o. introduced students to the issue of air pollution, with a particular focus on black carbon and organic carbon, as well as the INKA-B-ZZP project: Indicator of Quality of Living (Air, Noise, Traffic).

The project, funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU, was completed in February 2026. Its main objective was to develop a system for monitoring environmental pressures, specifically noise and air pollution, to design a predictive model, and to propose effective measures for reducing environmental burdens and improving quality of life in urban environments.

The pilot area was the Municipality of Velenje, where air quality measurements (carbonaceous particles and carbon dioxide) and noise measurements were established at five selected locations. Students also visited the monitoring site at Miha Pintar Toledo Primary School, where measurements continue even after the project’s completion.
