The Faculty of Environmental Protection, with its current research on microplastics in the environment, responded to an invitation from EDUCONS University in Serbia to participate in the international webinar “Microplastics Chronicles: Stories from the Cutting Edge of Research”. The latter was organised by researchers from EDUCONS University of Serbia in the framework of the HORIZON project “GREENLand – Twinning Microplastic-Free Environment”.
In the audience of renowned researchers in various fields of microplastic pollution from England, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Slovenia and Serbia, the research work of the Faculty was presented by Dr Anja Bubik in her lecture “Tracking Microplastics in Small River Environments”. She focused on research activities in the field of monitoring microplastics in small rivers and raising awareness on microplastics in the environment, which are carried out within the PLASTIX and EDU4PC projects.
| The project GREENLand addresses a highly relevant, global environmental issue, contributes to food and environmental safety by improving technologies for the prevention, detection and clean-up of microplastics, and fosters the development of researchers in the region by uniting efforts to protect the environment. The project aims to create a plastic-free environment and achieve zero microplastic pollution, working with renowned European institutions to put Serbia at the forefront of research and innovation. |
