Ines Drozg, a student on the Master’s programme in Environmental Protection and Ecotechnology, has spent the last two months in Gambia, where she has been actively involved in environmental protection projects as well as kindergarten and school work under the auspices of the non-profit organisation For the Children of the World. She also volunteered at the local turtle conservation centre, monitoring trees planted in Gunjur and harvesting at Tanji Creek. Meanwhile, she joined another brave Slovenian volunteer, Ana Bobnar, in the countryside to take part in the Reforest the Future project and experience authentic African life.
She went on this unforgettable work trip with the support of the Ad futura scholarship from the Public Scholarship Fund and the Faculty of Environmental Protection.
Ines has also previously participated in an Erasmus+ study mobility. She did her internship in Norway.
