FEP hosted students from the 4th year of the environmental protection programme at the High School for Construction and Environmental Protection of the Celje School Centre.
We first presented the environmental past of the Šaleška valley and together we assessed the path we have taken in the field of environmental remediation. During the guided walk, the students, with the help of FEP mentors, took samples from the Paka River, which were then analysed in the laboratory. They also learnt about calculating the carbon footprint of products and, at the end, looked ahead to the future of the Šaleška valley, which, after a successful environmental clean-up, is facing the restructuring of its economy.
During the science day, they learned about the importance and width of the field of environmental protection and the study of Environmental Protection and Ecotechnologies, as well as the wide range of job opportunities.
