Faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Borut Vrščaj and Assistant Katja Črnec participated in the international meeting of the Soils for Europe project, held on 15 and 16 October in the city of Évora, Portugal.
As part of the Soil Literacy ThinkTank group, they collaborated with an international team of experts to explore effective approaches for improving soil literacy and raising awareness of the crucial role soils play in the environment. The discussions focused particularly on identifying the most significant knowledge gaps and developing strategies to address them.
Participants also visited a farm in the Alentejo region, where they had the opportunity to observe examples of best practices in soil regeneration and sustainable agricultural land management.
The meeting proved to be highly productive, providing a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences and to strengthen professional collaboration among project partners.
