At the end of September (25–26 September), the Faculty of Environmental Protection hosted the third transnational meeting of the GreenGate 2 project, which brings together partners from several European countries to develop innovative approaches for raising young people’s awareness of the impact of chemicals on the environment and human health.
During the meeting, we presented the project’s achievements to date, discussed the upcoming testing and piloting of educational materials with young people, and strengthened our joint communication campaign on the “beauty traps” of everyday cosmetics.
In the FVO laboratory, we tested selected experiments that will soon be included in the new interactive GG2 LABTORIALS learning materials – a handbook for young people designed as a combination of scientific content and dynamic video demonstrations. These videos will show how the experiments are carried out in practice and help users understand how chemicals affect our health and the environment.
Chemicals are not found only in laboratories – they are often part of our everyday products, including those we use for personal care and self-expression. Decorative cosmetics can be an unexpected source of chemical exposure, which is why the GreenGate 2 project encourages reflection on what we apply to our bodies and how it affects both us and the environment.
