Doc. dr. Samar Al Sayegh Petkovšek, Teja Sterže and dr. Helena Poličnik have published an original scientific article “Assessment of air quality at selected locations in the Mežiška dolina using epiphytic lichens” in the scientific journal Acta Silvae et Ligni.
An inventory of epiphytic lichens was carried out at 12 selected locations in the Mežiška Valley in the spring of 2022 using the Slovenian SI method and the German VDI method. Based on the growth types of the litter and the species of epiphytic lichens, which are mainly affected by gaseous pollutants in the air, the air quality was assessed and toxic tolerance indices were determined.
