Trial Lectures in the Fields of Public Health and Ecotechnologies
At the end of May, the Faculty of Environmental Protection successfully hosted two trial lectures as part of the procedures for first appointment to academic titles. The lectures addressed current topics in public health, ecotechnologies, environmental monitoring, and environmental protection.
On Tuesday, 26 May 2026, Dr. An Galičič delivered a trial lecture as part of the procedure for first appointment to the title of Assistant Professor in the subject area of Public Health. His lecture focused on the epidemiological monitoring of infectious disease agents in wastewater. The topic is particularly relevant, as it connects public health, the environment, and modern approaches to infectious disease surveillance.
On Friday, 29 May 2026, Melani Potrč delivered a trial lecture as part of the procedure for first appointment to the title of Lecturer in the subject area of Ecotechnologies. In her lecture, she presented physical methods for characterising environmental pollution and highlighted the importance of appropriate analytical approaches in understanding and addressing environmental pressures.
Both lectures were delivered at a high professional level. With their selected topics, clear professional approach, and quality presentations, the lecturers attracted the attention of the committee members, staff, and students. The lectures were followed by discussion and numerous questions, confirming the relevance of the topics addressed and the interest in themes that connect human health, the state of the environment, and the development of modern environmental technologies.
We sincerely congratulate Dr. An Galičič and Melani Potrč on the successful delivery of their trial lectures and wish them every success in their further educational, research, and professional work.
