Assistant Professor Dr. Samar Al Sayegh Petkovšek, Senior Lecturer Klemen Kotnik, and Professor Dr. Kristijan Breznik have published an original research article in the renowned scientific journal Environmental Monitoring and Assessment. The article is titled “Assessment of impact of military activities on soil contamination with potentially toxic elements and organic pollutants: a case study for the Poček military training ground, Slovenia.”
The paper examines the impact of military activities on soil contamination in the area of the Poček Military Training Ground. It was prepared as part of the targeted research project “Risks Due to Environmental and Other Disasters in Areas of Operation of the Slovenian Armed Forces (V1-2372).”
The authors analyse the concentrations of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) and organic pollutants in soil samples collected between 2005 and 2024 at various military training areas within the Poček Military Training Ground.
