The 9th Days of Šime and Ante Starčević, an international scientific and professional conference titled Landscape in Education and Education in the Landscape, took place on 22 and 23 May 2026 in Gospić, Croatia. The event brought together 135 participants, who discussed various aspects of landscape, its importance in education, and the role of education in understanding, protecting, and managing space.
The Faculty of Environmental Protection also presented its work at the conference. Assistant Professor Dr. Natalija Špeh participated with the contribution “Pollution Burden of Riparian Landscape with River Litter after the 2023 Floods in the Savinja-Šalek Region.”
The contribution addressed the pollution burden of riparian landscapes with river litter after the 2023 floods in the Savinja-Šalek region. The topic is particularly relevant for understanding the consequences of extreme weather events, pollution of aquatic and riparian ecosystems, and the importance of monitoring environmental changes in the landscape.
