On Friday, 29 May 2026, the 10th Day for the Savinja<\/strong> took place at Vrbje Pond. The event is organised by the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation<\/a>, and this year it was prepared in cooperation with the Municipality of \u017dalec<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by 380 pupils from three primary schools in the Municipality of \u017dalec<\/strong>. Through practical activities at various thematic workshops, they learned about the natural environment of the Savinja Valley and the importance of responsible attitudes towards nature.<\/p>\n

Our faculty participated with a soil workshop prepared as part of the CURIOSOIL<\/a><\/strong> project. Pupils learned about the important ecosystem services provided by soils and took part in simple analyses of soil samples, such as measuring soil acidity and determining the soil colour code.<\/p>\n

The event offered an opportunity to bring the importance of soils closer to young people and to connect knowledge, research, and nature conservation.<\/p>\n
