In the final week of January, the Faculty\u2019s researchers published four peer-reviewed articles in leading international scientific journals, with a fifth article accepted for publication. It is uncommon for researchers from a single institution to publish multiple high-quality contributions within such a short timeframe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"515\" data-end=\"1186\">The published papers span a broad range of research areas, including waste management, social dimensions of environmental policy and public trust, soil protection and environmental education, wildlife ecology and population management, as well as contemporary approaches in molecular ecology and genomics. This thematic breadth clearly reflects the Faculty\u2019s interdisciplinary orientation, which systematically integrates natural sciences, engineering, and social sciences and humanities to address complex environmental challenges. The publications also confirm the quality of the Faculty\u2019s research and its growing integration into the international research community.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1188\" data-end=\"1652\">In one of the leading interdisciplinary journals addressing societal and technological change, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shttps:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/journal\/technological-forecasting-and-social-changeciencedirect.com\/journal\/technological-forecasting-and-social-change\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em data-start=\"1283\" data-end=\"1322\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Technological Forecasting and Social Change<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/a>, <strong data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1365\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Kristjan Breznik<\/span><\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">along with co-authors, published the article\u00a0<strong><em>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0040162526000302\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Waste management\u2013related trust, acceptance, and reputation: A multidisciplinary big data analysis across knowledge domains<\/a><\/em>.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0The study employs advanced data-driven and analytical approaches to examine social aspects of waste management.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1654\" data-end=\"2115\">In the field of <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/journal\/17550998\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">molecular ecology<\/a> and genomics, <strong data-start=\"1702\" data-end=\"1743\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Elena Bu\u017ean<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, with co-authors, published the article <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/1755-0998.70100?af=R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em data-start=\"1784\" data-end=\"1891\">From permits to samples: Addressing key challenges for high-quality reference genome generation in Europe<\/em> in <em data-start=\"1895\" data-end=\"1934\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Molecular Ecology Resources<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/a>. The authors analyzed long-term population trends of multiple ungulate species across Europe, highlighting significant interspecies differences and identifying key environmental and societal drivers behind these trends.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2615\" data-end=\"3143\">At the intersection of science, education, and public awareness, <strong data-start=\"2680\" data-end=\"2721\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Katja \u010crnec<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2726\" data-end=\"2767\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Borut Vr\u0161\u010daj<\/span><\/span><\/strong> published the article <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2073-445X\/15\/2\/206\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em data-start=\"2790\" data-end=\"2900\">Raising soil awareness in primary and secondary schools through indoor workshops\u2014designs and lessons learned<\/em><\/a><\/strong> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/journal\/land\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em data-start=\"2904\" data-end=\"2943\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Land<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/a>.
