From 20 to 23 October 2025, the 4th International and 16th National Conference of the Serbian Soil Science Society<\/a>, titled \u201cThe Soil Re-Union: Science for Healthy Soils\u201d<\/a><\/em>, took place in Vrdnik, Serbia.<\/p>\n

The main aim of the conference was to contribute to global efforts addressing the triple environmental crisis facing humanity \u2013 climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. The event brought together diverse sectors, regions, and scientific disciplines connected to soil research and management.<\/p>\n

The conference sought to promote knowledge exchange, provide a platform for dialogue, and encourage collaboration in co-creating future strategies for sustainable soil management. A special focus was placed on establishing international networks to facilitate continuous knowledge sharing and further progress in soil protection beyond the event itself.<\/p>\n

Two representatives from the Faculty of Environmental Protection (FVO), Dr. Borut Vr\u0161\u010daj<\/strong> and Assistant Katja \u010crnec<\/strong>, actively participated in the conference, contributing three presentations to the programme. Their presentations addressed the Classification of Soils in Slovenia 2025<\/em>, the Role of Multisensory Learning in Soil Education<\/em>, and Opportunities for Knowledge Transfer on Soils to Future Decision-Makers<\/em>. The presented educational approaches were developed as part of the CURIOSOIL<\/strong><\/a> project.<\/p>\n

As part of the field activities, participants visited soil profiles<\/strong> in the Fru\u0161ka Gora National Park<\/a> and at the Deuri\u0107 Winery<\/a>, as well as a geological profile<\/strong> near the Grgeteg Monastery<\/a>, further deepening their understanding of soil diversity and the importance of soil protection.<\/p>\n

The participation of FVO representatives in such international events strengthens the faculty\u2019s visibility and promotes knowledge exchange, the development of innovative educational approaches, and international collaboration in the fields of environmental protection and sustainable soil management.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
