{"id":24305,"date":"2025-04-01T15:36:12","date_gmt":"2025-04-01T13:36:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fvo.si\/sodelavca-fvo-predavala-na-mednarodnem-posvetu-o-genetski-prilagoditvi-gamsa-na-podnebne-spremembe\/"},"modified":"2025-04-02T09:58:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-02T07:58:09","slug":"sodelavca-fvo-predavala-na-mednarodnem-posvetu-o-genetski-prilagoditvi-gamsa-na-podnebne-spremembe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fvo.si\/en\/sodelavca-fvo-predavala-na-mednarodnem-posvetu-o-genetski-prilagoditvi-gamsa-na-podnebne-spremembe\/","title":{"rendered":"FEP researchers lectured at the international conference on the genetic adaptation of chamois to climate change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"783\">On March 20 and 21, 2025, a high-profile international conference took place in Mitrovac on Tara (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nptara.rs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tara National Park<\/a>), Serbia, as part of the subproject \u00bb<strong>Genetic adaptation of Northern chamois (<em>Rupicapra rupicapra<\/em>) ecotypes to climate change and habitat loss: A case study on the endangered subspecies of Balkan chamois (<em>R. r. balcanica<\/em>)<\/strong>\u00ab.\u00a0This subproject is conducted as a case study within the large European project <strong data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"483\">Biodiversity Genomics Europe (BGE; Horizon Europe program)<\/strong> by a consortium of research institutions led by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unibl.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Faculty of Forestry at the University of Banja Luka<\/a>. The coordinator of the project is <strong data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"649\">Prof. Dr. Dragan Ga\u010di\u0107<\/strong>, a long-time collaborator of the Faculty of Environmental Protection (FVO), which also participates as a partner in the consortium.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"1377\">Two FVO researchers, <strong data-start=\"806\" data-end=\"835\">Prof. Dr. Bo\u0161tjan Pokorny<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"865\">Prof. Dr. Elena Bu\u017ean<\/strong>, contributed to the conference with invited lectures. Prof. Bu\u017ean presented the <strong data-start=\"946\" data-end=\"961\">BGE project<\/strong> and the work of the <strong data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"1000\">ERGA community<\/strong>, which is also involved in determining reference genomes of European species (<a href=\"https:\/\/fvo.si\/en\/sodelavci-fvo-pomembno-prispevali-k-dolocitvi-referencnega-genoma-severnega-alpskega-gamsa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one of the first genomes determined was that of the chamois<\/a>).
