At the end of October, our colleagues, Prof. Dr. Elena Bu\u017ean<\/strong> and Prof. Dr. Bo\u0161tjan Pokorny<\/strong>, took part in a professional training at the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of Polish Academy of Sciences<\/a>, in the framework of the international project “Influence of biotope on genetic variability, fitness of individuals and embryonic diapause in the European roe deer”<\/a>, under the Erasmus+ programme.<\/p>\n

The training (focusing on laboratory work on the determination of the reproductive potential and the preparation of reproductive cells of the European deer) took place at their research station in Popielno, which is world-renowned, among other things, for its high-profile crossbreeding experiments between European bison, North American bison and cattle, and for its concern for the conservation of indigenous breeds of domestic animals, such as the Polish horse.The Slovenian professors also gave two lectures at the Institute’s headquarters in Olsztyn:<\/p>\n
